Dr. Grosdidier has spent significant  time in the last year becoming certified and trained to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Snoring. Sleep Apnea is reported to effect more than 20 Million people and is a serious medical condition, many people go untreated and this can have major health ramifications. Most commonly  patients are treated with a C-Pap Machine, which can be hard to wear and uncomfortable for both the patient and their bed partner. Statistics show that 80% of patients using a C-Pap machine will become non-compliant within a year and often stop using it completely within months. Increasingly doctors are recommending patients seek treatment using an oral appliance as an alternative to the C-Pap. This is where we can help! Dr. Grosdidier is now treating patients with various types of oral appliances with great  success! S&G Family Dentistry is proud to announce we are hosting a Bleaching Fundraiser next month and we want to invite you all to join in support of Hope for Hayden.

Randi White is a valued dental hygienist here at S&G; some of you may know her 10 year old son Hayden is battling a rare form Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. He was diagnosed in May, and in July required full amputation of his right leg. He is just beginning Chemotherapy for the second time and the family is in full fight mode! They are a wonderful young family from Osawatomie, Kansas. Hayden is the oldest of their 3 children; they are also raising Taylor, a darling 4 year old princess, as well as a new baby girl Kaleigh only 4 months old, born just before the diagnosis.

S&G is organizing the bleaching fundraiser Saturday October 1st to help support the family’s growing needs. By reservation, Saturday October 1st from 10:00am to 2:00pm we will offer custom made upper and lower dental bleaching trays for a minimum donation of $100, with the proceeds going to help the family. This is an amazing savings for anyone who has ever considered whitening, over $230 in savings! This offer is open to anyone, not just current patients (although we love new patients). We will take the impressions and go over bleaching instructions on Saturday, and the trays themselves will be available for pick up later that day and for some the next week .

Baseball and Softball season are in full swing!!!  Don’t forget to protect your mouth and jaw when you or your child are playing these sports.  Unfortunately our office has seen some very serious injuries from players who have not protected their face and mouth.  It is much easier to prevent than to repair when it comes to these kinds of injuries.  Batters should wear helmets with a face guard, and infielders should consider wearing an infielders mask.  At a minimum, all players should wear a mouthguard.  We believe custom made mouth guards protect significantly better than over the counter ones and are much more comfortable.  If you have any questions about mouth guards, please contact the office!
